Passage: Exodus 3:1-22
When we study a story like this, the life of Moses, we need to remember that this is a historical account of God’s deliverance of suffering people from slavery and oppression. From that perspective, the story is relevant to many situations in the world today. God is concerned about injustice and the oppression of people by evil dictators. Yet at the same time, because the rest of the Bible refers to the exodus as a picture of God’s spiritual salvation of people enslaved to sin under the cruel dominion of Satan, we can apply this story on that level. It’s showing us how God saves His people.
